switchtober

A few will realize it, and yet a twelve-year-old practice proves the same thing every year: October is the switch month. That means we act. Summer is over, energy is reinvested, but still not fully realized; patience has run out or the stretch has been long reached. In short, we accept what has been simmering for a while: we are ready for something else. And so, we look outside. Seek greener pastures, sip coffees, and read the messages from headhunters a little more closely.

slow down or accelerate?

Every year, we see organizations all rush into the job market at the same time. In the recent years, the demand side of the labor market has been busy throughout the year, but that last quarter adds an extra layer of intensity. It reminds you of the summer vacation rush. Everyone is in traffic on their way headed to the South of France because that’s just how it works. Preferably on that one Saturday or the next, when everything turns into a nice shade of jet black. What a nightmare. And yet, we endure it, and there’s an understanding because we’re given six weeks to move about freely for relaxation.

It’s the same with recruitment and hiring budgets. Set annually, to be spent annually, and if we lean towards a surplus or a shortage of people or euros, thankfully we still have Q4. Foot on the gas, or a slam on the brakes! Why does this pattern persist so stubbornly, the only operating model?

the roadmap

As far as we’re concerned, there are other ways to better anticipate demand, to nudge the supply more in your direction, and thus make the path you want to take feel like a flourishing alpine meadow (for those who think visually)

And so, on the brink of yet another Q4, we pause to reflect on our roadmap. The personnel roadmap. The path we want to follow throughout the year, leading us to success as defined by our clients.

Preparations for Q4 take place during the summer months for us. We meticulously prepare our clients’ personnel roadmap, charted out for each year, and fine-tuned quarterly.

This makes recruitment visible a quarter in advance, allowing for activation or adjustments as needed.

It’s a celebrated method to find tranquility and maintain overview amidst the chaos. And it’s incredibly simple. The only thing it requires is a director, an owner. Someone who advocates for this cause and takes charge of it.

and that’s where we excel. we take care of it.

So let this Q4 be the last one where traffic jams and pessimism prevail. It can truly be different, simpler, and much better for all parties involved. It’s all about people.
