Sr. Online Channel Manager. Retail, Randstad

This retailer is currently developing it’s organization structure in a way that we leverage their scale. As a result they aim for balancing the local and shared (group) responsibilities and activities - as they historically had a complete local (country specific) set up, the current direction is that they aim for setting up more shared activities. One of those are their online marketing channels. As a result they are looking for a group senior online marketing manager.

For their global team we are looking for a Senior Online Channel Manager.

The job

This retailer is in the process of developing a more scalable organization structure. Historically they have a 100% local (country-specific) set up. They are currently aiming for more shared activities, balancing local and shared (group) responsibilities and activities, such as their online marketing channels. As a result, we are looking for a senior online channel manager, someone who can coach and inspire the local marketeers. Together you will make a good online experience, the best online experience.

What can he / she expect:

You and the Group Head of Online Marketing will develop a central online marketing organization across the countries that:

  • Balances the best of breed between shared and local;
  • Balances the best of breed between internal and outsourced (via an agency)
  • Realizes the above with the highest quality to the lowest costs – so optimizes the ROI
  • Has a shared ecosystem based on shared agency(/ies), KPI’s, reporting and tooling;
  • Has a set of clear guidelines;
  • Takes ROI to the next level, by:
  • Replacing sales metrics by margin metrices where it comes to ROI optimizations;
  • Including per unit costs and ROPO into the bidding algorithm in order to drive profitability and share of traffic
  • Improving ROI by working closely together with ecom / UX teams on landing page optimization
  • Maximizes the share of non (low) paid traffic by SEO and loyalty based direct / brand search
  • Develops and coaches the local teams to a true center of excellence – with a culture of performance and learning.

    The candidate

    Next to having an adventurous heart, we’d love to see an expansive knowledge of the online performance channel landscape. You are at the forefront of digital marketing and think strategically, never losing the bigger picture out of sight.

  • International. You should know how to handle working with different countries, markets and departments.
  • Entrepreneurship. Cliché, but true. We need you take the lead and think like an entrepreneur.
  • Working experience. A proven track record in Online Marketing, preferably in retail.
  • Flexibility. You are eager to travel (~40% of time). Positive towards change and willing to roll up the sleeves and step in to support local teams when it’s needed (e.g. for tests or for peak times).
