Our client is the leading European Direct to Consumer (DTC) retail business focused on performance nutrition. They started out as a single store, focused on bodybuilding supplements and dietary products. Now, twenty years later, it’s an online multinational and multimillion euro company that employs over 230 people.
To innovate and to stay ahead of the rest of the market we are looking for a Creative Studio Manager to guide the Content & Design team.

Job Purpose

Content is king for this pure eCommerce player. Therefore the online shop, the stories they tell, the way they look & show themselves to the outside world in photography, stories & videos should be ‘best-in-class’. This will be your responsibility together with your content and design team.

Your portfolio should prove creative thinking across all platforms (digital platforms, campaigns, packaging, etc.), and mind blowing execution regarding concept and design. Next to this you will manage several projects in parallel, have tight deadlines and still manage to maintain flexible (retail mindset) to adjust.

Principal Accountabilities Include

  • Make us look good & appealing for customers!
  • You are the owner of the Visual Identity & Tone of Voice in quality, consistency and attractiveness through all our consumer touchpoints; Webshop, packaging, campaigns, advertising, social media, email, blog, recipes, etc.)
  • Develop creative campaign concepts in cooperation with our Brand Manager, across all different types of communication, including: onsite, packaging, email, advertising, blog, etc.
  • Packaging Design; you are the owner how our multiple product ranges look good, consistency in brand guidelines, but also differ
  • Manages the in-house creative team (10 people) and (external) capacity in executing the brand campaigns
  • Manage & inspire the team, but also keep a close eye on capacity, lead times, budget, external agencies and our USA Creative Studio team which can support us in times of peak workload
  • Continuously develop the visual direction to evolve the brand in creating desire in attracting consumers
  • Directs all brand photoshoots, content (copy) and video content, working closely with external production teams when needed
  • UX, A/B test design to optimise our web shops in the different markets
  • Food or Sport & Design experience is a big plus!
  • Experience & Knowledge

  • Education through higher professional level with a specialisation in design, content & UX
  • Minimum of 7-10 years work experience in creative design function and managing teams
  • Experience working for a Creative agency or in-house creative team
  • Solid knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
  • Experience in Design for digital campaigns in a ecommerce player is a plus
  • Experience in/with Design in Food, Retail & Sports are a plus
  • Experience in Creation, evolving and guarding a Brand (preferably international)
  • Excellent spoken/written English, but a good understanding of Dutch is preferred
  • Motivator and source of energy and inspiration – positive ‘can do’ mentality
  • Great eye for detail and the capacity to zoom out to a strategic level.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure on multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • “hands on” Designer, you will lead the team, but will be involved in Design yourself as well
